Job Description:
As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the store, managing staff, maintaining stock levels, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth. You will play a key role in shaping the shopping experience for our customers while upholding our company standards and values.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and manage store employees including cashiers, shelf stockers, and department leads
- Creating employee schedules, assigning schedules and responsibilities to employees, checking to see if these responsibilities and assignments are carried through in the store
- Oversee ordering, receiving, and stocking of grocery items to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Ensure customers receive friendly and efficient service throughout the store.
- Setting criteria for staff, such as sales performance and customer approval or complaints
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in all areas including storage rooms, refrigerators, and checkout counters.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue
- Supervise cash registers and ensure correct handling of cash, credit, and voucher transactions.
- Implement in-store promotions and seasonal product displays.
Selection Criteria
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a retail management role, with a track record of achieving sales targets and managing a team or experience with inventory management and financial reporting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze sales data and make informed decisions.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Retail management certification or relevant training is a plus.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays and ability to stand for extended periods
- Work in a retail environment with exposure to various weather conditions and potential for high foot traffic.
