Job Description:
The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store to ensure excellent customer service, efficient operations, and achievement of sales targets. The role involves managing staff, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with company policies, and creating a positive shopping experience for customers. The Shop Manager is responsible for driving business growth, improving store performance, and maintaining high operational standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the shop to ensure smooth and efficient performance.
- Supervise, train, and motivate staff to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
- Create staff schedules and assign duties to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet and exceed targets.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, oversee stock levels, and coordinate reordering.
- Ensure proper merchandising, product display, and store cleanliness. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and resolve issues professionally.
- Conduct regular stock checks and implement loss prevention measures.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manage deliveries.
- Prepare sales and operational reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Selection Criteria
- High School Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification; a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field is an advantage.
- Proven experience in retail operations, shop supervision, or store management, with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales and operational targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and team members.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Sound knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, stock control, and retail operational procedures.
- Experience using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to analyze sales performance and implement strategies to improve store productivity and profitability.Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and company operational policies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and extended trading periods when required.
