Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate, driven, and hands-on Shop Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the shop. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, driving sales performance, and delivering excellent customer service.
As a Shop Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining high store standards, managing stock levels, and ensuring the shop is well-presented at all times. You will also be responsible for training and motivating staff, handling customer enquiries and issues, and ensuring the business meets its sales and operational targets.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and customer-focused, with strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage daily shop operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate staff to achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide excellent customer service and handle customer enquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members to build a strong and productive shop team.
- Ensure the shop is clean, well-organized, and properly stocked at all times.
- Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering, conduct stocktakes, and minimize stock loss or shrinkage.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and daily banking.
- Review shop performance regularly and implement strategies to improve sales and operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace health and safety standards, and loss prevention procedures.
Selection Criteria
- Proven experience (2–5+ years) as a Shop Manager, Retail Supervisor, or in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate staff.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- A strong focus on customer service and building a positive team environment.
- Sales-driven with a proven ability to meet and exceed targets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, public holidays, and peak trading periods.
