Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shop Manager to oversee daily store operations and ensure efficient management of stock and customer service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction, monitoring stock levels, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring accurate inventory records. The Shop Manager will also ensure proper product display, store cleanliness, and adherence to company procedures. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work closely with suppliers and internal teams to maintain optimal stock availability while minimizing losses and waste.

Roles & Responsibilities
  •  Oversee daily store operations to ensure smooth and efficient running of the shop.
  • Supervise and support staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders.
  • Organize and manage proper storage and display of products to prevent damage or loss.
  • Ensure shelves are well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing at all times.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding orders and deliveries.
  • Ensure stock is replenished in a timely manner to avoid shortages.
  • Implement stock control procedures and loss-prevention measures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally.
  • Monitor sales performance and prepare reports for management review.

Selection Criteria

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a certificate or degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in retail operations or shop management, including stock control, staff supervision, and basic financial reporting.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to supervise, train, and motivate staff.
  • Excellent organizational and operational skills, with the ability to manage store activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze sales and stock reports to make informed decisions on merchandising, replenishment, and store performance.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries, complaints, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a retail environment with exposure to varying conditions and high customer activity levels.
