Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Retail Operations Manager to oversee overall store performance and ensure efficient management of daily retail operations, stock control, and customer service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising store teams, maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction, monitoring stock levels, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring accurate inventory and sales records across all operations.
The Retail Operations Manager will also ensure effective merchandising, store presentation, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role involves analyzing sales performance, improving operational processes, and driving business growth. It requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work closely with suppliers and internal teams to maintain optimal stock availability while minimizing losses and waste.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily retail operations to ensure all stores run efficiently and meet performance targets.
- Lead and support store teams, including staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor inventory across all outlets to ensure accurate stock levels and effective control.
- Supervise the receiving and verification of goods to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and merchandising of products to minimize damage and maximize sales.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and visual merchandising.
- Conduct regular stock audits and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to manage purchasing, orders, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely replenishment of stock to prevent shortages and lost sales opportunities.
- Implement and enforce retail policies, operational procedures, and loss-prevention strategies.
- Drive excellent customer service standards across all retail locations.
- Analyze sales and operational data, and prepare performance reports for senior management.
Selection Criteria
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a certificate or degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in retail operations management, including overseeing multiple store functions, staff supervision, inventory control, and basic financial reporting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop store staff.
- Excellent organizational and operational skills, capable of managing multiple store activities while maintaining accurate records.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to analyze sales, inventory, and operational reports to make data-driven decisions on merchandising, replenishment, and overall store performance.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to resolve inquiries and complaints to maintain a positive shopping experience.
- High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, and the stamina to be on the shop floor for extended periods.
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic retail environment with high customer traffic and varying working conditions.
