Job Description:

Responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical engineering projects. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, teams, and client communications, ensuring that mechanical systems are designed, installed, and maintained according to industry standards and client specifications.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, objectives, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Prepare and monitor project budgets, controlling costs and ensuring projects are completed within financial parameters.
  • Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and resolving issues.
  • Design Review: Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all mechanical systems and installations meet industry standards, project specifications, and quality expectations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project timelines or costs and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement process for materials, parts, and equipment necessary for project execution.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve technical or logistical issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to senior management, clients, and stakeholders on budget, schedule, and performance.

Selection Criteria

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required).
  • Experience: 5+ years in mechanical project management or engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in mechanical design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera).
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is a plus.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address complex technical challenges and manage project-related issues effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both client-facing and internal team interactions.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
