Job Description:
Bakery Production Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all bakery production activities to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently, safely, and on schedule. The role manages production staff, controls costs, maintains food safety standards, and ensures customer satisfaction through consistent product quality.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead, train, supervise, and schedule bakery production staff to achieve daily production targets.
- Plan and manage daily bakery operations to ensure efficient and timely production.
- Ensure all bakery products meet company quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
- Monitor and control inventory levels of ingredients, packaging, and bakery supplies.
- Coordinate purchasing and maintain adequate stock to support production requirements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Monitor production costs, labor expenses, and ingredient usage to maintain profitability.
- Reduce waste and improve production efficiency through effective resource management.
- Handle customer feedback and ensure high levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Support the development of new bakery products, seasonal promotions, and sales initiatives.
- Ensure bakery equipment is properly maintained and operating efficiently.
- Prepare production reports and recommend operational improvements to management.
Selection Criteria
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control systems, and operational procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage production teams, solve operational issues, and achieve production targets under pressure.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems, production reporting, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
- Experience in cost control, resource planning, and production scheduling.
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Production Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Food Safety, HACCP, Occupational Health & Safety, or other relevant industry certifications are an advantage.
