Job Description:

The Bakery Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bakery, ensuring high standards of product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This role involves managing production schedules, supervising staff, maintaining food safety compliance, and achieving financial targets. The Bakery Manager plays a key role in driving innovation, consistency, and excellence within the bakery section.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation, baking, and presentation of high-quality bakery products
  • Plan and monitor production schedules to ensure timely and efficient output
  • Ensure bakery equipment is properly maintained and fully operational
  • Maintain optimal stock levels through effective inventory control and coordination with procurement
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate bakery staff
  • Prepare work schedules and delegate tasks to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities
  • Foster a positive team culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and productivity
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
  • Conduct regular quality checks to maintain freshness, taste, and presentation standards
  • Maintain accurate records including temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and inspection reports
  • Work closely with front-of-house teams to deliver excellent customer service
  • Handle special orders, custom cakes, and customer inquiries professionally
  • Monitor customer feedback and product performance to improve offerings
  • Support marketing activities, seasonal promotions, and new product launches
  • Monitor sales performance and control bakery-related costs
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, waste, and productivity
  • Assist with budgeting, pricing strategies, and margin improvement

Selection Criteria

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a bakery or food production environment
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and bakery equipment
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet operational targets
  • Experience with inventory systems, POS, and basic computer applications (MS Office)
  • Certificate in Food Safety, HACCP, or related training (required or willingness to obtain)
