Job Description:

Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the organization. This includes managing staff, ensuring equipment and facilities are operating efficiently, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and costs.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Operations: Manage all maintenance activities including building systems, equipment, utilities, and facilities, ensuring smooth daily operations with minimal downtime.
  • Asset & Equipment Reliability: Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs while responding quickly to breakdowns and ensuring all machinery and systems operate efficiently.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance staff while promoting a safe, productive, and positive working environment.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, control repair and operational costs, track expenses, and manage suppliers and service contractors.
  • Planning & Improvement: Coordinate maintenance planning, upgrades, and improvement projects to enhance efficiency, safety, and asset lifespan.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all maintenance work complies with health, safety, environmental, and legal regulations while enforcing safety standards and procedures.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance records, prepare reports for management, and support long-term asset planning and operational improvements.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant qualification in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance or facilities management.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role leading a maintenance team.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, machinery, equipment, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage daily maintenance operations and respond effectively to breakdowns and emergencies. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Experience in planning and implementing maintenance schedules and improvement projects.
  • Sound financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and resource planning.
  • Ability to manage suppliers, contractors, spare parts, and inventory efficiently.
  • Good understanding of workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of local labour laws and compliance requirements. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English.
  • High level of organization, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility to work after hours, weekends, and be on-call for urgent maintenance issues.
  • Experience in industrial, commercial, hotel, or resort environments is an advantage.
