Title: Accounting Manager

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting operations. This role involves managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of accounting principles, and a passion for accuracy.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain general ledger and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts.
- Analyze financial data and trends to support business decisions.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor daily accounting activities to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closings.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and local regulations.
- Coordinate internal and external audits; prepare audit schedules and documentation.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of accountants and finance staff.
- Allocate work assignments and ensure deadlines are met.
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development.
- Work closely with other departments (HR, operations, sales) to align financial reporting with business activities.
- Provide financial insights to senior management and stakeholders.
- Support finance-related projects, including system upgrades or process improvements.
Selection Criteria
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Awareness of business trends
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- Intermediate understanding of accounting and reporting standards, gaining experience in researching as it relates to accounting issues
- Experience with accounting software is a plus
